From The Field
One of the first things we do during a managed services onboarding is a full backup audit. More often than not, we find that backups have been running and completing — but nobody has ever verified a restore. The business thinks their data is protected because the backup job shows green every night. What they don’t have is any evidence the backup is actually usable. We’ve had clients who would have lost months of data if they’d had to restore from what they thought was a working backup. Verification is not optional. It’s the part that matters.
