Australian Proxmox Reseller and Support Partner
The Australian partner that runs Proxmox — not just sells it.
PIP is an Australian Authorised Proxmox Reseller and Support Partner, supplying and supporting all four Proxmox products from a Sydney NOC. Every deployment is backed by more than three decades of Unix and Linux engineering — not a reseller account opened last quarter.
What is Proxmox?
Proxmox is an open-source server virtualisation platform built on Debian Linux. Proxmox Virtual Environment combines KVM for full virtual machines and LXC for Linux containers under a single web interface, with clustering, software-defined storage, networking and high availability built in. It is a direct alternative to VMware vSphere and Hyper-V — without per-VM licensing or vendor lock-in.
The software is 100% free under the GNU AGPL. A Proxmox subscription does not unlock features — it adds access to the tested enterprise repository and vendor support. That open-source foundation, and the fact that Proxmox VE runs the same Linux stack PIP has managed since the 1990s, is why it has become the default open source solution for Australian businesses re-evaluating their hypervisor.
Everything is driven from one web interface. From a single console, administrators build and live-migrate VMs across clusters, spin up containers, attach shared storage, and configure high availability — the same operational model whether the deployment is a single node or a multi-site estate. Backup and disaster recovery run on the same platform through Proxmox Backup Server, and inbound email security through Proxmox Mail Gateway.
The Proxmox Product Family
Most businesses arrive knowing they want Proxmox, not which products make up the family. Proxmox VE is the virtualisation platform that runs the VMs and containers; the other three handle backup, email security and multi-cluster management. PIP supplies and supports all four — and every Proxmox VE host is driven from the same web interface, from a single VM up to large clusters.
Proxmox VE
Virtual Environment- KVM virtual machines + LXC containers, one interface
- Clusters of up to 32 nodes, HA and live migration
- ZFS, Ceph, SDN and an integrated firewall
Proxmox Backup Server
PBS- Incremental, deduplicated, encrypted backups
- Immutable storage — ransomware-resilient
- Granular restore plus offsite disaster recovery
Proxmox Mail Gateway
PMG- SpamAssassin scoring and ClamAV antivirus
- Self-service quarantine for end users
- Inbound and outbound SMTP filtering
Proxmox Datacenter Manager
PDM- One pane of glass across multiple clusters and sites
- Cross-cluster management of guest VMs and containers
- Centralised Ceph monitoring and provisioning

Proxmox Subscriptions
A Proxmox subscription provides enterprise repository access — stable, tested updates — and Proxmox vendor support. It does not add software features. Pricing is per CPU socket, per year, with no per-VM charges or core multipliers, so a two-socket Proxmox VE host costs the same whether it runs five VMs or fifty. The same per-socket model applies across clusters as they scale.

Managed Proxmox with PIP
Above the vendor subscription tiers sit PIP’s two managed plans. Each includes the Proxmox subscription plus PIP’s own engineering, monitoring and support — so the environment is run by people who have managed this stack for decades, not just licensed. PIP-managed environments cover the full operational surface: VMs and LXC containers, cluster health, shared storage and networking, plus backup and disaster recovery via Proxmox Backup Server.

Why PIP for Proxmox
Not marketing claims — operational history. PIP’s Proxmox solutions are delivered by an organisation that has run the underlying open source platform since before the product existed.
Linux heritage
Three decades of Unix and Linux engineering — HP-UX, SCO Unix, SunOS and IBM AIX through to Linux from the 1990s. The engineer who answers at 2am has built ZFS storage arrays and run production Ceph clusters carrying real VMs — not read a datasheet about them.
Authorised partner
An Authorised Proxmox reseller and support partner since August 2025, and a VMware partner from VMware 1.0 in 1999. PIP understands enterprise virtualisation and centralized management from both sides — and can supply the full hardware stack to run it.
Australian support
Proxmox is an Austrian company on European time. PIP’s first response is Australian-timezone, from a Sydney NOC — escalating to Proxmox vendor support when needed, rather than waiting for Vienna to open. Backup, disaster recovery and data protection stay on Australian soil at PIP’s Sydney Datacentre — local engineers, local data.

“The organisations that come to us for Proxmox are usually in one of two situations: running VMware where the post-Broadcom billing has made renewal untenable, or Linux shops that want an enterprise-grade hypervisor without the VMware overhead. Either way the conversation is the same — the engineering is solid, the licensing model is simple, and if you’ve run Linux for any length of time, Proxmox is not a stretch. The difference between PIP and a pure reseller is that we’ve been running this stack ourselves since before the product existed.”— Brad Dixon, PIP
