Local reassurance: Microsoft 365 provides defined data‑residency commitments for Australian tenants across core workloads (Exchange, SharePoint/OneDrive, Teams and more). The data provided by users may be processed or stored in various regions, including the United States and other countries, and Microsoft and its service providers maintain facilities to ensure data security and compliance. You can view your tenant’s current data locations in the Microsoft 365 admin centre. Add AI: Copilot for Microsoft 365

Copilot Chat (included): Microsoft Copilot is the AI-powered assistant integrated into Microsoft 365, providing secure, work‑aware AI chat for Entra ID users with a Microsoft 365 subscription. Ask questions, draft content, and get instant help grounded in your work context. Copilot Chat is available in multiple supported languages—see the official list for details (LINK 1). The Copilot app may be provided by either Microsoft or a third party app publisher; users should review the app publisher’s details. A separate privacy statement and Microsoft’s EULA apply to the use of Copilot and related apps. You can sign in with a personal account, personal Microsoft accounts, or a school account, and having a school account connected may be required for certain features.

Copilot for Microsoft 365 (add‑on): Bring Microsoft Copilot directly into Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams to draft, analyse, summarise and automate. Licensed per user as an add‑on to eligible Microsoft 365 plans. Copilot is available from either Microsoft or a third party app publisher, and is governed by Microsoft’s EULA and a separate privacy statement. Supported languages and account types—including personal, school, and work accounts—may affect feature availability.

For personal accounts, Microsoft 365 Personal offers premium Office apps, AI tools like Copilot, and works across devices with an active subscription. For households, the Microsoft 365 Family subscription provides access for up to six people, including Copilot Chat and other premium features on multiple devices. Note: Some features, such as Copilot Chat, may require a family subscription—family subscription required to unlock certain premium features for personal use.
