Business Internet Provider — Sydney’s ISP Since 1995

PIP is a registered NBN RSP and Telstra Wholesale Partner. Business internet from the ISP that Sydney businesses have relied on since before NBN existed.

Business Internet from PIP

NBN

Business NBN

Business NBN with static IP, 4G backup, and the provisioning quality that national telcos don’t bother with for SMBs. PIP is a registered RSP — not a reseller of a reseller. For Sydney businesses needing reliable, properly managed NBN internet.

Fibre

Business Fibre Internet

Direct business fibre via PIP’s Telstra Wholesale partnership. Symmetrical speeds, SLA-backed uptime, and no shared infrastructure. The step up from NBN for businesses with higher demand or a genuine SLA requirement.

4G/5G

4G/5G Backup Internet

Automatic failover internet via Telstra’s 4G and 5G networks. PIP offers a bespoke static IP service on 4G/5G — most ISPs can’t do this. For businesses that need to stay connected when primary internet goes down.

PIP also provides building-wide internet infrastructure for corporate buildings in Sydney — DSLAM-based connectivity for individual suites and common areas. Contact PIP to discuss.

Why PIP

Why Choose PIP as Your Business Internet Provider?

Own Network, Own Datacentre

PIP owns internet infrastructure and a Sydney Datacentre. Internet connections terminate there — not through a reseller layer on top of another reseller. PIP is a business internet provider that controls the path.

ISP Since 1995

Thirty years of internet infrastructure in Sydney. Most NBN RSPs did not exist when PIP started providing business internet. Sydney businesses have relied on PIP across every network technology change since dial-up.

DC Termination

For businesses also hosted with PIP, the internet connection terminates in the same datacentre as their server. Dramatically lower hop count, measurably lower latency. No other internet provider in Sydney offers this.

Same Team

The team providing internet is the same team managing the IT environment. One call. No blame between the ISP and the IT company — because they are the same company.

Static IP on 4G

PIP provides static IP addresses on 4G/5G connections — a technically non-trivial capability most ISPs cannot offer. Critical for VPN, remote access, and IP-based security on a backup connection.

One Bill

Internet, IT management, hosting, and cloud. A single provider, a single monthly invoice. No reconciling three vendors to diagnose one connectivity problem.

The Origin

PIP Has Been Providing Internet in Sydney Since 1995

P.I.P stands for Preferred Internet Provider. The name was not marketing — it was a description. In 1995, Brad Dixon joined the original P.C.P (Preferred Computer Peripherals) business and established an internet service and Sydney Datacentre alongside the hardware operation. That was the beginning of PIP as it exists today.

The ISP side grew rapidly, taking on thousands of clients across Sydney. Internet became the dominant revenue line and the core of the business identity. By the mid-2010s the entire company had unified under the PIP brand — the internet provider had outgrown the peripherals company that started it.

This matters because most businesses that claim to “provide internet” are reselling a larger carrier’s product with their label on the bill. PIP built its own infrastructure. The datacentre that was established in 1995 is still the point where PIP’s internet connections terminate today.

For business internet, Sydney has no older independent ISP. PIP was providing internet before NBN existed, and the infrastructure it built in 1995 is still in production.

“Most ISPs that serve SMBs today are just as focused on the residential market. You end up on the same offshore help desk as every home user, dealing with the same peaks and troughs of speed and the same best-effort service levels. PIP only does business. When your internet drops, you call the same Sydney team that manages your servers, your firewall, and your hosting — and they already know your environment before you finish explaining the problem.”

Homes Too

PIP Also Connects Homes — One Provider, One Bill

PIP does not run residential marketing campaigns, but connects many homes by word of mouth. The service is identical to the business offering — the same enterprise-quality internet, the same support team, the same infrastructure.

Many of PIP’s best business relationships started with a home connection. A business owner’s partner connected the home, received the same level of service they were used to paying three times more for, and mentioned it to the decision-maker at the office. One provider for home and business means one bill, one support team, and no arguments about whose line is causing the problem.

Yes, We Connect Homes Too

The same enterprise ISP service — at home. For PIP hosting clients, the DC termination latency advantage applies to residential connections as well. Contact PIP to connect your home.
